Berlingeren misinformerer : Khidhir Hamza ("Saddam's
resultat:
"To ud af tre danskere mener ikke, at mediernes dækning af
Irak-krigen giver et retvisende billede af virkeligheden."
Referencer:
Scott Ritter: "The CIA knows Hamza is not Saddam's bombmaker.
The CIA informs Congress. So how come Hamza gets to testify to
Congress?"
[Interview with author, 4 November, 2002. peacemail@danirak.dk]
"Hamza is a fraud, and his insights re: WMD are useless."
[Comment received by e-mail from Scott Ritter on 4 April,
2003.]
Scott Ritter is a former intelligence officer, who served in the US
Marines during the Gulf War. He is a ballistic missile expert, who
was chief weapons inspector for UNSCOM in Iraq from 1991 until he
resigned for ethical reasons in 1998. Few, if any, can match
Ritter's encyclopaedic knowledge of Iraq's former programs for the
production of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons.
David Albright: "DAVID ALBRIGHT: I think, as people are asked to
support war against Iraq, I think we need to look at the available
information much more carefully and I think it saddens me to have
to send that letter to you about Dr Hamza, who I personally liked.
But unfortunately I believe that his statements are often
inaccurate, they're inconsistent. For example, just a couple of
weeks ago he told the London Sunday Times that Iraq was building
nuclear weapons and could have them in a couple of months. He
sculpts his message to get the message across to his audience and
certainly I don't know his agenda - you mentioned one aspect of
what is suspected to be his agenda, he wants regime change and what
interferes with that is just ignored."
"TONY JONES: Do you believe he really was the kingpin of Saddam
Hussein's nuclear weapons program, as is claimed almost every time
he appears before congressional hearings?"
"DAVID ALBRIGHT: No, he definitely wasn't. [.] He never headed the
program to make the highly enriched uranium, which is where most of
the money was. Also after six months he told me he wanted out of
that program. [.] He then retired at the end of 1990 [.] And so his
information after 1990 was really second hand and gained from
talking to colleagues. So I think he's distorted his title
dramatically."
Nuclear weapons expert warns of Hamza evidence, Tony Jones,
Australian Broadcasting Corporation, 25 September 2002, at -
http://www.abc.net.au/lateline/s686055.htm.
David Albright is a nuclear weapons expert. He is the president
of the Institute for Science and International Security in
Washington and he was on the International Atomic Energy Action
team from 1992 to 1997. In June of '96 he became the first
non-governmental inspector of the Iraqi nuclear program.
CV from Institute for Science and International Security:
"Dr. Khidhir Hamza worked as a consultant for ISIS during
1997-1999. He provided a copy of his CV, reproduced below, as of
1997. [...]
· 1987 -- Director General in charge of Weaponization1
(President's Special Security Forces)
· 1988 - 1990 -- In charge of Theory and Modeling of the
Dense Plasma Focus (DPF) Project; Manager in charge of the Iraqi
delegation to Poland. DPF construction supervision and training
(May - Nov 1989) 1991 - 1993 -- Lecturer, Computer Science
Department, Al-Mansour University College, Baghdad, Iraq (subjects:
Numerical Analysis, Operations Research (Lab)) [...]
1 "Weaponization" is a term used to describe a set of processes to
research, develop, test, and manufacture nuclear explosives or
weapons using a supply of fissile material. The program headed by
Hamza was not involved in producing the fissile material, but
planned to use a supply of highly enriched uranium that was to be
produced in other, far larger, efforts headed by Jaffar Dhia Jaffar
and Mahdi Shakir Ghali al Ubeidy." -

The Institute for Science and International Security is a
non-profit, non-partisan institution dedicated to informing the
public about science and policy issues affecting international
security. Its efforts focus on stopping the spread of nuclear
weapons, bringing about greater transparency of nuclear activities
worldwide, and achieving deep reductions in nuclear arsenals.
Imad Khadduri:
"Hamza exaggerated to a great extent his own role in the nuclear
weapon program. As I personally know [Hamza] and have worked with
him during these two decades, I wish to clarify the following
untruths and misinformation that has been postulated by him in his
book [.] [T]he "bombmaker" was kicked out of the [weapons] program
at the end of 1987 for stealing a few air conditioning units from
the building assigned to his project. This he conveniently omitted
to mention in his book, but cited frequent travels abroad to garner
assistance and equipment, while in fact he was an outcast to the
project and did not attend any seminar or brainstorming sessions
during that intense period."

American Peace Activist Shot by Israeli Tank
Today at about 6.30 pm Brian Avery, 24, of New Mexico was
shot in the face by a burst of machine gun fire from an Israeli
Armoured Personnel Carrier.
Today the Israeli army of occupation operating in the Jenin area
imposed its second day of curfew on the people of the city. Groups
of young men and boys continued their resistance to the curfew by
venturing out onto the streets to throw stones at tanks and other
military vehicles.
At about 6.30 pm Brian and another ISM activist were at the ISM's
Jenin headquarters when they heard the sound of gunfire coming from
the centre of the city, about two blocks away.
They left the apartment to investigate and had traveled about a
hundred metres when they arrived at a major crossroad and saw two
armoured personnel carriers advancing towards them at low speed.
There were no Palestinians on the streets in the area, armed or
otherwise. At the sight of the armoured vehicles both activists
stood still and raised their hands above their heads. When the
first armoured personnel carrier was 50 metres from them it fired a
burst of machine gun fire (an estimated 15 rounds) at the ground in
front of them so that they were sprayed by a shower of broken
bullets and stones. Tobias, Brian's companion, leapt aside. He had
fled about three steps when he looked back to see Brian lying face
down on the road in a pool of blood.
Tobias and Brian were then joined by four other ISM activists who
had arrived at the scene of the shooting by a different route. All
six of them rushed to help him as the two armoured vehicles rolled
past without stopping. He was conscious but when he raised himself
from the ground they saw that his left cheek has been almost
totally shot off.
The activists then performed first aid on him and phoned for an
ambulance which took him to the Martyr Doctor Khalil Suleiman
Hospital in Jenin where he was treated for shrapnel wounds to his
face including bone fractures below the eyes, lacerations of the
tongue and lacerations of his left cheek. A specialist was called
in to examine his injuries and recommended that he be transferred
immediately to a hospital in Afula in Israel but his departure was
delayed because the Israeli military refused to grant his ambulance
safe passage for more than an hour.
From Afula Brian was transported to a hospital in Haifa by
helicopter.
Under the Israeli Army's own rules of engagement soldiers are not
permitted to fire warning shots with mounted weapons. They may fire
warning shots with light hand held weapons and must aim away from
the people they are warning. When he was shot Brian was wearing a
fluorescent red vest with a reflective white cross on its back and
front, writes Gush Shalom.

War Crimes in Iraq
The US has again executed 2 surrended Iraqi soldiers. Remember the
earlier photos 2 weeks ago, where you also saw executed, surrended
Iraqi soldiers.
So: It seems to be, that US is executing a lot of Surrended Iraqi
soldiers. These 2 cases surely are not the only ones.
There is a total genocide going on at the moment against Iraq. The
Al-Jazeerah TV just reported about 100 patients per hour, arriving
just to Baghdad Hospital.
In Hilla city there has been a huge genocide (Several separate
cases), part of which have been reported also by International Red
Cross Members. Several hundreds of victims.
Also from Hilla we have heard of an execution of Iraqi civilians in
in a bus, in US Check point (This is different case, what you have
heard earlier). The execution was possibly made by a Rocket
launcher, with a Thermobaric warhead, because no shrapnels at all
(Again so called "Strange" victims).

collecting data about US +UK Warcrimes in Iraq, writes Dr. Stig
Froberg/Finland.

History scholars fight present war
Growing numbers of American historians are so worried that the Bush
administration is ignoring the lessons of the 20th century, and
even the last 2,000 years, that they are signing petitions,
marching against the war in Iraq, and holding teach-ins across the
country.
The Bush administration is "ignoring the established pattern of
what destroys great empires - the eventual reliance on military
power over economic and cultural dominance," said Van Gosse, one of
the activist historians and a professor at Franklin & Marshall
College. "This happened to the Romans, to the British."
Those who view historians as irrelevantly stuck in the musty past
might be doing a double-take these days.
These academics have mobilized into a national organization called
Historians Against the War. They wrote a petition decrying
the recent "egregious curtailment" of civil liberties, and
organized teach-ins on college campuses across the country this
week, writes Philadelphia Inquirer.

THE WORLD UNITES FOR APRIL 12
International Day of Action
On April 12 -- in addition to the National March on Washington
DC and joint actions in San Francisco and Los Angeles -- massive
and coordinated demonstrations will take place around the world, in
the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe.
In England, the Stop the War Coalition UK -- the group that
organized over 1.5 million people to demonstrate in London on
February 15 -- will hold their next national demonstration on April
12. See http://www.stopwar.org.uk for more information.
In past months, massive demonstrations on January 18 and
February 15-16 were the decisive factor in changing the political
climate contributing to the political isolation of George W. Bush,
Tony Blair and their war plans. There have been many other huge
demonstrations in the United States and around the world on October
26, March 15 and March 22. The whole world is now taking to the
streets in almost daily protests. April 12 will be another
opportunity for a coming together in vast numbers to show the
continuing and growing power of the anti-war movement.
Stop the War Coalition UK, A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition and German
anti-war organizers have put out a joint call to rally
international participation on April 12. It reads in part: "It is
becoming clear to millions that this is not a war for Iraqi
liberation but a bloody military invasion. ... further coordinated
international action can make it difficult for [Bush and Blair] to
continue the carnage. ... We call on the anti-war movements to
organize the next day of global capital city protests on April
12."
Protests are already scheduled for Brazil, Mexico, Nicaragua,
Puerto Rico, South Korea, the Philippines, Italy and Sweden, in
addition to England, Germany and the U.S. Other protests are
currently in the planning stages and will be announced soon.

BRUSSELS, Belgium, April 29 (UPI) -- Four European states that
opposed the war on Iraq agreed Tuesday to pool their armed forces
and set up a military headquarters independent of NATO in a move
dismissed as unnecessary by Britain.
Meeting in Brussels, the leaders of France, Germany, Belgium and
Luxembourg signed up to a raft of measures that could lead to a
fully fledged European Security and Defense Union by the end of
next year.
