Amerikansk forretningsmand og republikansk præsident 2001-2009. Uddannet jagerpilot i Texas hjemmeværn 1968-foråret 1972, hvorfra George W. Bush overflyttes til Alabamas hjemmeværn, (under Vietnamkrigen, altså bekvemmelighedsnægter).
Guvernør i Texas før præsidentembedet som Bush vinder med en stemmes majoritet i højesteret. Søn af George Bush. Religiøs fundamentalist. Initiativtager til Bush-doktrinen. Erklærer krig mod Irak marts 2003 uden mandat fra FN, altså i strid med folkeretten. Præsident Bush erklærer 1. maj 2003 krigen mod Irak for vundet. USAs økonomiske politik i det besatte Irak er ligeledes i strid med Haag-konventionen af 1907.
Bush har nære venner, der 2004, er tiltalt for økonomisk kriminalitet.
